2018 SHFG Annual Meeting: 
Federal History in Times of Transition

The Society for History in the Federal Government announces its annual meeting to be held March 23-25, 2018, at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education in Shepherdstown, WV.

Registration  for the Annual Meeting is $45 for students, $85 for members, and $125 for non-members. There is an optional $10 lunch. Hotel information listed below. 

This year we have created a Google Sheet to allow attendees to coordinate rides to Shepherdstown or hotel room shares. You can find the Google Sheet here. 


Byrd Center Information

Hotel Information

The SHFG Annual Meeting will be held in the Robert C. Byrd Center on the campus of Shepherd University.  SHFG has reserved blocks of rooms at two nearby hotels.

Bavarian Inn (http://www.bavarianinnwv.com/). The room rate ranges from $129-225 per night. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the conference center.  Please mention the SHFG meeting when calling to make a reservation.   Individuals are responsible for booking and paying their own room and tax. Individuals will have a 7 day cancellation policy, reservations must be cancelled on that date prior to 3:0pm to receive a full refund on the deposit. Deadline to book February 23rd.

Clarion Hotel (http://www.clarionhotel.com/hotel-shepherdstown-west_virginia-WV012) The room rate is per diem, at $93 plus tax, per night, for the entire meeting.  The hotel is approximately 1 mile from the conference center.  Please call 304-876-7000 and ask for the “Meeting of the Society for History of the Federal Government Block” to make reservations.  A 24 hour notice is required for any cancellations.
